Hungary supports EU enlargement

Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti today received a delegation of the National Assembly of Hungary, led by Parliament Speaker Laszlo Kövér.
 
During the talks, President Nicolae Timofti thanked Hungary for the support of our European aspirations, which has culminated, till present, with signing by Moldova of the Association Agreement and concluding the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU.
 
The head of state stressed that for bilateral cooperation with Hungary, the commercial and economic sphere constitutes a priority objective of foreign policy.
 
In this context, the head of the parliament in Budapest said that Hungary supports the EU enlargement in the Balkans and Eastern Partnership states, noting that his country is interested in political and economic stability, but also respecting the territorial integrity of Moldova.
 
The sides also discussed issues related to regional security, including the conflict in eastern Ukraine and exchanged views on the latest developments in the European Union.
