The head of state, Mr. Igor Dodon, participated in the second edition of the National Costume Festival held in Vulcanesti, under the aegis of the Bashkan of Gagauzia and with the support of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
More than 120 national festive attires of Gagauz, Moldovans, Bulgarians, and other ethnic groups in our country were exhibited at the Festival. Also, modern indigenous costumes were presented. The oldest presented festive attire was made about 102 years ago.
In addition to this, the participants were offered a series of master-classes for wool work, embroidery or crochet. At the same time, those present at the Festival could visit a fair. After all, they were invited to a concert where artists from Gagauzia performed.
"I am glad that the Gagauzians, like the Moldovans, keep their traditions and make efforts to pass them on to the next generations," the head of state said.
President Igor Dodon also mentioned that he supported and encouraged the organization of such social and cultural events that promoted our national customs, values, and traditions.
