The Head of State held a meeting with the Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Ion Chicu, incumbent for the Minister of Finance. After discussions, Igor Dodon signed a decree appointing Mr. Ion Chicu to this position.
“I worked with Mr. Chicu in many governments from 2005 to 2009. I know him very well as a true professional and technocrat, one of the best specialists in the budget and financial field and in tax administration. I congratulated the government team on the appointment of the person who will be able to respond to any calls to the post of Minister of Finance” the President of Moldova said.
Igor Dodon assured that the new minister could fully count on the support of the presidential administration.
