During her working visit to the Hellenic Republic, the head of state had a bilateral meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The officials talked about the transit of Ukrainian grains on our territory, the latest developments on the front and our European course.
"This week, when the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine mark their Independence Day, we talked about how important peace and freedom are for our countries. Despite the dramatic regional situation, both countries are making complicated reforms and concrete steps to accelerate the initiation of EU accession negotiations", President Maia Sandu emphasized.
As well, the President spoke with her counterpart from Kyiv about the third Crimea Platform Summit at the level of heads of state and government, which will take place on Wednesday, 23 August. The Republic of Moldova will be represented at this international event by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
"Moldova enjoys peace today thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian people. Moldova is with Ukraine, with the Ukrainians who are fighting to defend their land and the right to decide their own future," the head of state said.
