President Nicolae Timofti today signed two decrees on the resignation of the government and appointing the acting prime minister.
Under the first decree, the president took note of the government's resignation, tendered by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet today, following the adoption, by the Moldovan parliament, of the censure motion against the government, and in line with the article 118, paragraph 2, of the parliament's regulation, passed through the Law No. 797-XIII from 2 April 1996.
According to the second decree, Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega was appointed acting prime minister, till the members of a new government are sworn into office.
