Moldovan president receives accreditation letters from Qatari ambassador

President Nicolae Timofti today received the accreditation letters from Qatari Ambassador to Moldova Mohammed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Maliki.

Timofti wished the ambassador every success in his diplomatic mission and welcomed the Doha authorities’ decision to open an embassy of the State of Qatar in Chisinau.

The president said the Moldovan authorities wanted to attract Qatari companies’ investments into the national economy. He said that both the visit by the delegation of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce to Moldova this month and the carrying out of a Moldova-Qatari business people forum next spring would help identify cooperation priorities and foster trade exchanges.

„Moldova gives special importance to the bilateral ties development. A proof of this is the opening of the Moldovan embassy in Qatar in 2013,” Timofti said.

For his part, Mohammed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Maliki reaffirmed the Doha authorities’ will to boost the economic cooperation between Qatar and Moldova. The envoy spoke out for the development of Moldova’s export potential, especially of the ecologic agricultural products sector.

Nicolae Timofti and Mohammed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Maliki backed the initiative to launch a regular flight between the capitals of the two states in 2014.

Mohammed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Maliki invited Timofti to pay a visit to Qatar. The head of state accepted the invitation.
