The Head of State had a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, discussed, on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly in New York, with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg. The discussion covered existing cooperation programs, security developments in the region and the need to increase the country's resilience to current risks.

The Head of State stressed the importance of cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance within the framework of the programs agreed in the Moldova-NATO Partnership Individual Action Plan, focusing on the professional development of the Armed Forces or the enhancement of the integrity of the security and defense sectors. The "Science for Peace and Security" (SPS) Program and the program meant to strengthen our country's civil protection capabilities were also mentioned. Jens Stoltenberg reiterated his respect for Moldova's neutral status, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and mentioned the Alliance's readiness to expand cooperation in the areas of hybrid threats, disinformation and cyber risks.
